Stirred Drinks Build Character ~ Forty Turns of Patience

Anyone can shake for fifteen seconds and call it done. Standing over a mixing glass for a slow minute while the ice does its quiet work takes a particular kind of person, and she is that person. Her friends have learned to wait, and the waiting has made them better guests.

• Who Believes It: The friend whose bar spoon has seen more use than her phone.
• The Scene: A silent kitchen, a frosted mixing glass, the soft clink of a long slow stir.
• Gift Pick: For the one who proves that patience tastes like something.
